And of course, reach out anytime if I can be of assistance to you on your journey to explore Naples living.
Can I just level with you? I absolutely love and adore Naples, Florida. I've lived a lot of places during my life. In my prior career as a senior executive, they like to move me about every 2 to 3 years. I've collected a lot of addresses and lived a lot of places. I have to tell you, Naples is just something special. It's a beautiful cross between small-town feel with some amenities that, candidly, town our size just normally wouldn't have. Today I want to bring you into my inner circle and share a few hidden gems with you in our beautiful town of Naples, because we all know Naples, Florida is known for its pristine beaches, upscale dining, and vibrant culture. But it also boasts a treasure trove of hidden gems that many residents and visitors may overlook. So whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned local, here are some of Naples' best-kept secrets that will make your experience visiting this beautiful town even more enjoyable. Sarasota— I'm going to start with the arts. Sarasota is often recognized for its arts, but what many people may not realize is just how much art and culture exist in our quaint town here in Naples. The Baker Museum is a cultural gem featuring a diverse collection of contemporary art, and it hosts rotating exhibits from world-renowned artists. And sometimes there are even some amazing world-renowned collections that our local residents will lend out to Baker. So be sure to check out their schedule for special events educational programs. These things can really provide deeper insights into the art world. And under the same roof, by the way, you will find Artis, where you can catch a ballet show or even an orchestra production. We move on to the Naples Preserve. This is tucked away just minutes from our bustling downtown. The Naples Preserve is a 90-acre nature preserve that offers a serene escape into Florida's natural beauty. With a network of trails, boardwalks, and picnic areas, it can be the perfect opportunity for a leisurely stroll or even a family outing. So don't miss the chance to spot native wildlife including birds, butterflies, and maybe even a playful raccoon or two. We're going to move on to some beach spots. While many people may head to the Naples Pier or the well-known Vanderbilt Beach, I want to tell you about Clam Pass Park. This place offers a quieter and more intimate beach experience. Visitors can take the scenic tram ride through the mangroves to the secluded beach, which by the way, if you don't want to ride the tram, the walk is amazing through the boardwalk and it's perfect for shelling, paddleboarding, or just a peaceful afternoon. Delano Wiggins State— Delano Wiggins Pass State Park. I always forget the past. Though it's not entirely a secret, Delano Wiggins is often overshadowed by a lot of Naples' more popular beaches, but this pristine park features untouched nature, beautiful trails, and some of the best shelling spots in the area. So whether you want to swim, sunbathe, or simply enjoy a picnic surrounded by natural beauty, this hidden treasure is a must-see. By the way, this beautiful park even has overnight camp sights. Another one that I mispronounce all the time, Corishan State Park. And though technically it's outside of Naples and nearby Estero, Corishan State Park is worth a short drive. This historic park preserves the unique history of Corishan Unity, a communal society from the late 19th century. And you can tour out old— the old settlement, kayak the Estero River, or you can even camp under the stars. Let me move on to the Naples Botanical Garden. This lush oasis spans 170 acres and it's home to various plants and ecosystems. It's one of my personal favorites, and while it is well known by many, there are people that don't realize the garden often hosts workshops, concerts, and even seasonal events. The tranquil environment with its beautiful lakes and walking paths offers the perfect backdrop for a beautiful, peaceful day out. And some of their exhibits during the holidays and special occasions are superb. I'm going to move on next to the Revs Institute. What's the Revs Institute? Well, it's a world-class car museum that may not be widely known. It's not really big, but it's very interesting. It houses one of the finest collections of vintage automobiles anywhere. Naples is a town of car enthusiasts, and car enthusiasts will love the meticulously restored vehicles and fascinating history displayed at this Naples Gem. The next one up is Naples Depot Museum. History enthusiasts will definitely appreciate the Naples Depot Museum. It displays and showcases the city's rich heritage. Housed in a restored train depot, the museum features exhibits on the history of Naples and the railroads that helped develop the area. It's a great place to learn about Naples' past, and you don't have a lot of crowds there. We're gonna move over to some parks. Gordon River Greenway. Oh my gosh, this scenic trail along the Gordon River is perfect for walking, biking, or rigorous jogging while immersing yourself in the beautiful natural surrounds. The greenway features beautiful views, wildlife sightings and tranquil spots to relax. Plus, it connects the Naples Botanical Garden, which I've highlighted, making it easy to explore both attractions in one day and even get some walking in. The next one I want to highlight is Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. That's a mouthful. Bit off the beaten path, it's a little far east, but this sanctuary is a peaceful haven for bird watchers and nature lovers. With a 2.25-mile boardwalk that winds through the ancient cypress forest, pine flatwoods, and wet prairies. It's quite an escape where you might spot alligators, otters, and a wide variety of bird species. Now let me move on to Sugden Regional Park. Sugden is a lesser-known park with a freshwater lake. In fact, in the summers they have a water ski camp out there for the kids. But back to the park itself, it's perfect for day picnicking, paddleboarding, or sailing. The park offers water sport rentals, and it's also known as a great spot for kids to play on the sandy beach without the waves and salt water of the Gulf. Now let's talk about Baker Park. Though it's one of Naples' newer parks, Baker Park is still somewhat of a hidden gem. Located along the Gordon River, it features beautiful gardens, walking trails, and a scenic overlook with views of downtown Naples. It also, by the way, has some, um, fenced dog park areas, which are great place to not only allow your dog to socialize but get some adult socialization also. It's an excellent place for a picnic, walking your dog, or just taking in the beautiful and peaceful surrounds. Let's talk now about Third Street Farmers Market. I don't know about you, but there's just something so quaint about going to a farmers market, and Naples has plenty of them. All weekend long you could be traveling to different farmers markets, but Third Street just has something special about it. And while many visitors flock to the more well-known farmers markets, the Third Street Farmers Market is a charming and less crowded alternative. Held every Saturday, it offers fresh local produce, artisan goods, and a cozy neighborhood atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to pick up something fresh before strolling down to 3rd Street's boutique shops, or maybe even grab lunch nearby. And let me tell you, I don't know if it's always there, but one of the things I fell in love with at the 3rd Street Market was the olive stand. There's two brothers that import and, um, and sell amazing olives. And olives is one one of my sweet spots. The next one, but not the last one I want to talk about, is Naples Art District. This artist community is a hidden gem for art lovers. It's tucked away in an industrial area, so you're not just going to drive by it unless you know it's there. It's near Pine Ridge Road and Airport Pulling, and on the first Wednesday and third Sunday of each month, the district opens up for free studio tours, which is kind of cool. Visitors can meet local artists, see their works spaces and purchase unique pieces of art directly from the creators. And last but certainly not least, I couldn't put this list together without including Celebration Park. We have a ton of amazing dining facilities here in Naples, but once you've been to one, you've been to many. They, they are all amazing restaurants, so trying to find something that's unique and a little different can be hard. But Celebration Park is located located on Bayshore Drive, and this fun and casual waterfront food truck park is one of Naples' hidden gems. Featuring a rotating lineup of gourmet food trucks, live music, and waterfront views, it's a great place to grab a bite and soak in the local vibe, especially in the evenings when it becomes much more lively. So Naples, Florida is brimming with hidden gems that offer unique experiences for residents and visitors alike. Some of these lesser-known spots in Naples offer a quieter, more local experience and showcase the natural beauty and charm of the area beyond the usual tourist attractions. So enjoy exploring everything from tranquil nature preserves to vibrant cultural venues. These best-kept secrets are waiting to be discovered by you. So the next time you find yourself in Naples, venture off the beaten path and uncover the treasures of that this beautiful city has to offer you.
