In this episode of the "Naples Revealed" series, real‑estate expert Renee Hahn introduces viewers to the climate of Naples, Florida, focusing on heat and humidity. She explains that summer highs typically reach the high 90s°F, but unlike desert cities such as Phoenix or Las Vegas, Naples rarely hits triple‑digit temperatures. The moisture in the air makes it feel warmer than the dry heat elsewhere, yet it also moderates evenings and mornings, supports lush, year‑round greenery, and leaves skin feeling softer. Hahn then offers six practical strategies for staying comfortable: (1) maintain a reliable central air‑conditioning system, (2) schedule outdoor activities for cooler morning or late‑afternoon windows, (3) stay well‑hydrated with water, coconut water, or electrolytes, (4) wear lightweight, breathable fabrics and use sun protection, (5) take advantage of Gulf‑side breezes, and (6) enjoy indoor amenities such as art galleries, spas, and upscale shopping. She highlights the broader lifestyle perks of Naples—no harsh winters, vibrant tropical landscapes, warm Gulf waters, and spectacular sunsets—arguing that the climate’s challenges are outweighed by these benefits. The video concludes with a call‑to‑action, inviting viewers to contact her via yournaplesexpert.com to find their dream home in the area.

Hello, Renee Han, your Naples real estate expert, bringing you another edition of Naples Revealed. Today we're going to talk about the heat and humidity. So if you're considering a move to Naples, Florida, you'll likely hear about the warm weather. Yes, it can get hot and humid, but the good news is that Naples climate is manageable and there are plenty of ways to stay comfortable while soaking up the tropical paradise. Let's break it down and see how Naples compares to the other hot boxes. Plus, we'll dive into some tips for the Florida heat. So we'll start with the very known fact that Naples is known for its sunshine, tropical vibes, and you do have what I'll call summer temperatures typically reaching the high 90s. But here's the thing. While it's undeniably humid, Naples rarely experiences extreme triple-digit temperatures like you'll find in places like Phoenix, Las Vegas, or even parts of Texas. In fact, I tell people on your hottest day, even if you're in Ohio, Call me and I can almost assure you it's gonna be hotter than it is here. But what sets Naples apart is the humidity. And while dry heat in the desert can feel scorching, the moisture in the air here can make it feel a little bit warmer. On the flip side, this humidity also keeps evenings and mornings pleasantly balmy and provides the lush greenery that's uniquely Florida. The other byproduct that your dermatologist may tell you is my skin down in Florida feels so soft and vibrant because of that humidity. I don't get the dry cracked fingers. The aging, I believe, slows down as long as I don't accelerate it by soaking up too much of the vitamin D out there unprotected. But seriously, the skin process down here is nice because of that humidity. So now let's talk about some of the tips for dealing with humidity. Number 1, invest in a good air conditioning system. Hello! Every home in Naples is equipped with central air conditioning. It's a must-have for cooling off after time outside, so just ensure that your system's well maintained and energy efficient. Number 2, time outdoor activities wisely. So in the heat of the summer, plan your outdoor activities like golf, pickleball, or boating during the cooler parts of the day, such as morning or late afternoon. Number 3: Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Staying hydrated is key in this climate. Always have a water bottle on hand, especially when outdoors. Coconut water or electrolyte drinks are great options to replenish your body. Number 4: Dress for the weather. Lightweight, breathable fabrics like cotton and moisture-wicking athletic wear can help you stay cool in this humidity. Don't forget a wide-brimmed hat and bring your sunscreen so that you get to take advantage of the positive aspects of humidity on your skin. Number 5, take advantage of coastal breezes. Naples' proximity to the Gulf of Mexico means you'll often feel refreshing sea breezes, especially on the beach or while dining al fresco at one of the many waterfront restaurants. And lastly, number 6, embrace indoor comforts. Naples is full of ways to enjoy your day indoors when humidity peaks. Visit one of the area's art galleries, enjoy a spa day, or go shopping in upscale destinations like the Waterside Shops or Mercato. And I'll tell you, your pool and going swimming in the Gulf is wonderful during those summer months. I don't do it as much in the winter because my blood has thinned out so much that I'm cold in the winter here, even though it's beautiful and sometimes in the 70s and 80s. But you better believe I spend more time in those waters in the summer. It's a great way to cool off. So while Naples weather may take some getting used to, and it took me about a year and then I was better, it is part of what makes this area so desirable. So here's what you get in return. 1, no harsh winters. Say goodbye to the snuff, snow shovels, and heavy coats. Say hello to your sand shovels and your sand castles. A lush tropical landscape. The humidity keeps Naples green and vibrant year-round. Where else can you do— excuse me— do that? And perfect beach days. Even during the summer, the Gulf waters are warm and inviting, and the waters are calm. The sunsets, of course, stay second to none year-round. So while the summer heat and humidity might feel like a challenge at first and may be daunting, Remember, Naples has so much to offer in return.
