Chapters
Today we're slaughtering chickens, which is a fantastic time to tell you about the general bank of culture. It's got chapters all about how to slaughter chickens, how to run the slaughter step by step by step. Check it out on Kickstarter right now.
So it's getting cold up here at.
59 degrees north and I wanted to.
Make a quick video update of how to get your hands on a copy of this book and when you can expect it to come. So this book is ready to go and it's been finally polished, updated. It's a big book, a very big book. And I wanted to just let you guys know what's going on with it. The Kickstarter campaign, it's been amazing to watch. It's rolling up at €200,000, which is incredible. It's the largest amount raised for anything in the field of agriculture or permaculture, etc. On Kickstarter ever. And that's amazing. Thank you so much, everyone. It's really, really appreciated and it's great to see the interest in smarter ways of farming, managing our soils, habitats and looking after each other at the same time. I'm super excited and pumped for that. I'm sending this off for a second run past the editor and then I have a few days to update any minor errors before sending it off to the printer. Now, the best place to get the book is through this Kickstarter campaign because I'm going to be taking January and February holiday with my family, taking some serious downtime, which is quite unprecedented for us. We've been very busy for many years and have maintained a very high workload and we've never had extended family holiday in that time. So we're looking forward greatly to that. But this book will not be shipping therefore, from our website until March and that means people won't be getting it till March or April time. We will only be selling this via our website. We'll be selling the PDF version and the hard copy book with €15 flat rate, subsidized, first class shipping anywhere in the world. However, if you get on the Kickstarter now, there's different reward tiers that you can see. The quickest way to get this book is to buy the PDF copy because we will be sending that out once the Kickstarter is closed and it might be early as the beginning of November that you get an ebook copy. Hard copies will depend on when they come back from the printer. Now we're hoping to get them in early December, in which case we will send them off before that in first class shipping, I will have everything prepared to send out all the copies sold on Kickstarter just as soon as is possible. I'll have all the packaging materials on hand and as soon as the books arrive from the printer, be shipping them out from the farm. Now I've said on the Kickstarter campaign, it's January, February and it may well turn out to be that I will ship them the day I get them and the couple of days, because it's running over 1500 books already and that's likely to grow. The campaign still has 19 days left to run. I do not know when the printer will definitely deliver them. I can't guarantee that and it's usually minimum six weeks, but it could be up to 10 weeks before we get the books at the farm. So I can't promise anything and I won't be responding to questions and emails about that. This is an update so that you all know what's going on. I will send them just as soon as they come and my intention is to have sent them all out before I go on holiday so that we don't get a traffic jam with books and people being delayed in receiving that. So the best way to get the book is to buy one on the Kickstarter campaign because that means you will get the first lot that is shipped out before they go on sale on our website. They're going to be for sale on regenerativeagriculture. Co. There will be links etc to all those things in updates, in further videos and on our social media pages. And we'll be selling on our own website once the campaign has finished. But I will not be shipping those books until March time at the earliest. And when I come back from holiday I will no doubt have a huge pile of emails and things to get through that. It will take some time, so book it in the campaign. There's also a tier for lifelong access to our online training. Now that's going to get a big overhaul next year, but that's lifelong access and it's running at just under a thousand euros. It's cheaper than most online education programs and there's not really anything comparative to it because it covers the whole gamut of regenerative agriculture, not just vegetable growing or single enterprises like that. It's got a huge amount of data and videos that you don't find on YouTube and things like that in a structured educational format. That price for that training will go up and it will be more functionality and more content added to that in the next year. So that's a great chance to hop onto that if you wish to have lifelong access to our training. And I will be adding content for many other farms in the years to come too. So that's it for today. Just wanted to give you an update. That's the best way to get the book, get behind the campaign. It's really great to have that out in the public domain. It inspires other people to get on the case and share resources, etc. And it's great to see the momentum building behind regenerative agriculture and better ways of farming and managing holistically.
So we are in the village Vest Imtvik, our village, and this neighbour has walnut trees. And here is a Ginkgo biloba. We tried planting some of these, but they didn't make it. This is a tree with no living ancestors. Special tree, but we've come to see their walnut tree because they've got English walnut, which we never bothered planning originally. There is a big walnut tree that appears to be having a lot of walnuts. Let's go and have a look. Now, walnut obviously does fine here. This is a beautiful tree. And so they've been collecting up nuts every year and I've seen these in other people's gardens, but we'll try the.
Nuts at home to see if we like them.
But he's been throwing nuts at the back of that bush and so we are coming to take them. They're self stratifying in the winters and as you can see, walnut tree doing very, very well. This is the genetics that we want in our field. If the walnuts are good, but they look pretty. So these are all little seedlings that have stratified just in. This is where they put their grass.
Clippings and stuff at the back.
You see there's trees in here, so we're going to take a couple and we've seen a few all around the village that everyone must be getting these nuts. So great way to share their genetics around.
Thanks so much, folks. See you in another video soon. Bye for now.
