Welcome back to another episode folks in Perhaps what's the silliest idea I've had all week? I thought I'd show you in the pond. I've never looked inside. It's mid November. It's four degrees. Pretty horrible weather. No better time to do. Sam. It's. Is cold in there, folks. I guess he knew that already. I was hoping I'd be able to show you the trout in there. I had this image in my head of this beautiful scene of a trout slowly swimming away, flicking up some dust. But. Did you like that, Taku dog? Yeah. Okay, crazy mission over. The other thing we have to do today is get the ATVs back from Arnie up in the forest and store them for the winter. So as you know, we run the farm on a quad bike and an atv. So once a year we come to fix things up. Arnie is a master repairman. He has fixed thousands of these machines. This is the brake disc from the commune. Oh gosh. And that's even worse. Wow. This has had some heavy use this year. This is the break from the rhino. It's been totally destroyed. This was in the wheel bearing. Now I've shown you this shop and Arnie's little place in the woods here before in other videos he built all these beautiful buildings by hand. There wasn't even a road to this property, so he built everything here from scratch. I always love coming here. I showed you this beautiful sauna maybe a couple of years ago in the videos. So the annual service for the rhino. Something that needs to happen in here is a couple of new seats because you get real wet butts sitting in here. And the quad bike that, you know, we use for egg collection has been serviced as well. So, you know, this is common things. I've in the past never let anyone use the rhino because every single time it's cost me about 1500-€2,000 a year to fit when other people use it. This is all the machinery we typically use to run the entire farm. If we need a tractor, like in the early years when we were keyline plowing, we would just hire that in €60 an hour. The driver is way more economical than having a machine sitting still. These two machines are used all the time at the farm and have many different functions aside from standard animal duties. So they've been very economic for us and real game changers and amazing to be able to farm without a tractor. An air filter also new air filter. This is our one. Yeah, yummy sticky. This tight fuel stabilizer and for both the quad and the atv, right? Oh yes. Every gasoline, every refill. Oh yes. Yeah. Super warm. I bet you've seen everything, haven't you? Yeah, it came a moped from Norway and he thought the transmission was broke. He started up and. And it was flowing sparks from this bits of metal. Mud pile. That's gnarly. Not really allowed to do this because I'm driving on the road for a short stretch now. Now but what I've got to do to get home. I can't get through the forest, it's too wet right now. So hopefully we don't get stopped. That's the E45 back to the house. I'm going up into the forest. So we're going off roading. Let's hope we're going to get through here, Sam. Okay. Well it's been a few years since I came through that way and I nearly got stuck last time I was through there. Super capable machine, I think you'll agree. My Hilux would have had a hard time getting through there. But we're right out in the middle of the forest now. Okay, job done. Got some new cattle feeders, quite heavy duty ones which we can go up and put together. Give them a couple of different bale grazing areas because the sheep often get out spaced by the cows and this seems like a little bit heavier duty than the ones we've got so hopefully they will be ideal. I've only had time to look back at the footage in the pond now and it's pretty rubbish. I'm sorry about that. But it's a thriving little habitat there. Lots of diving beetles and aquatic creatures and I know that there's at least three brown trout living in there. I wish I'd made a video back in the summer and perhaps next summer I'll do it and we can really see. I need to get in there and clean out some of the plants. It's just got a bit dense in there. Be nice to have a channel. It's only really that deeper spot where swimming. That's about one and a half meters deep and it tailors off if you remember the pond build videos in the past. But I know that the trout are in there. They've been jumping and feeding all summer and I'd really love to just see them in their natural habitat. Be really cool. Anyway, that's it for today's episode, folks. Don't forget we're launching the Regenerative Agriculture Masterclass very soon. We've got our free mini series up that I know a lot of you have been enjoying and we're looking forward to running the Cohort in January February 2021. However, sign ups will be open soon and you'll only be able to register for the course for a few weeks when the openings are announced. So hope to see many of you in there as we plan and design your farms in a suppl supportive peer group. It's going to be awesome. Epic training. Look forward to meeting many of you in there.
