In this short video, Rick Lee James introduces the classic hymn "Before the Throne of God Above" to his church congregation, encouraging listeners to prepare their hearts for Sunday worship. He then sings (or recites) the hymn, presenting its verses that emphasize the believer’s standing before a loving, perfect King, the Great High Priest, and the salvation offered through Christ’s sacrifice. The performance blends spoken invitation with lyrical worship, aiming to inspire devotion and reflection among church members.

This is a great old hymn that we're gonna sing Sunday in church called "Before the Throne of God Above," and I just wanted to share it maybe with some of our church members to maybe try to get our hearts thinking towards that way for this Sunday. So here we go.
Before the throne of God above, I have a strong and perfect King, the Great High Priest whose name is Love. Whoever lives and pleads for me. My name is graven on his hands, my name is written on his heart. I know that while in heaven he stands, no tongue can bid me hence, depart. No tongue can bid me hence, depart. Satan tempts me to despair and tells me of my fearful fate. But when I look and see Him there who made an end of all my sin. Because the sinless Savior died, my sinful soul is counted free for God the Justice satisfied. To look on him and bow and weep. To look on him and bow and weep. I see him there, the risen head, a perfect spotless righteousness. He made a change of who I am, the King of glory and of grace. One with himself, I cannot die. My soul is purchased by his blood. My life is in the Christ who died. With Christ my Savior and my God. With Christ my Savior and my God. One with himself I cannot die. My soul is purchased by his blood. My life is hid with Christ on high. With Christ my Savior and my God. With Christ my Savior and my God.
