There's several things today. PBS, and it's also Father's Day. It was last year on Father's Day I made the announcement I was going to be a father to our congregation. So this is my first Father's Day, and I'm excited about it. We have Alexander there on the second row. Nobody sits on the first row but Pastor and Miss Dee today. Anyway, this is a day we want to not only honor our fathers but encourage our fathers towards the Kingdom of God. And so I wrote this song for Alex that I'm gonna play today. There's gonna be some pictures of him as he's been growing. But I hope this will be the prayer for every parent in here, not just dads, because my prayer is not just that our children walk and learn how to walk, which I'm looking forward to that phase, but I want them to walk in the light. And so that's where this song came from, Love Drawn Near.
There's so much to learn as I'm watching you grow, my son. You're still a baby and there's much work to be done. Don't wait around for your life to begin. Your life is already beginning. —begun. So follow me, boy, I'll help you learn all that you can. There's so many steps on the road to becoming a man. There will be days when I can't be around, so listen as close as you can. These are the things I I'm praying for you, I hope you'll understand. I want you to know more than just how to walk. I want you to walk in the light. To love the Lord God with your heart and your soul, every last ounce of your might. There will be doubts, there will be fears, but don't let them ruin your faith. Love is greater than fear. God is love, don't you believe? There's no greater love than to lay down your life for a friend. There will be days when you doubt you have any plan. Some people never learn how to love well. They probably need it the most. Remember, God's love is not just for your friends, it's even for your greatest foes. I want you to know more than just how to walk. I want you to walk in the light. To love the Lord God with your heart and your soul, with every last ounce of your might. There will be doubts, there will be fears, but don't let them ruin your way. Love is greater than fear, and God is love. Come here. Your heart will dance, your heart will sing, your heart will cry. As long as it beats, let it belong to the Lord of all things. For the pure in heart will see God. There is a lie that says life is about getting more. But Christ will be found when you walk with the weak and the poor. to your heart, your soul, every last ounce of your mind.
