micro-episode- Thunder Album Update

Hey everybody, welcome back to Voices in My Head. As always, I am your host Rick Lee James, and this is a very short, very mini episode voices in my head. The song that you're hearing playing in the background right now, well, that's a song called Thunder, and it's off of my new album by the same title. It's the song that was written originally by Rich Mullins, and then years later after he passed away, it was picked up again and reimagined by Lowell Alexander, one of Rich's co-writers, and Phil Nash, who is one of the great producers in Nashville. And I'm so honored that I got to record it for this new album and able to share it. And I just, I can't tell you what it means to me to have just even a very small part in the legacy of Rich Mullins. But what I wanted to share with you today in this very brief episode is I'm going back into the studio on March 12th, and the plan is right now, since as most of you know, we did an Indiegogo fundraiser and we raised about half of what we need, but since we didn't get everything that we need, I'm gonna do a second Indiegogo campaign on March 12th, the same day that I go into the recording studio. Now The thing that's going to make this campaign different is mostly we are just treating it like a presale order or a preorder of the album where you can go on Indiegogo and you can sign up even today if you go to rickleejames.com/thunder and you can put your email address in to be notified when we go live. When the campaign launches, when I'm in the studio on the 12th, it's going to enable me to share some live video from the studio to keep you updated, even allow you to see some of the recording process and hopefully get a little more excitement going on with that. So what you can think about is not this huge obstacle of over $5,000 that I still have to raise to finish the recording, but just to be thinking about, like, you can do a small part, like going on to Indiegogo and doing a presale where you're going to be getting the album afterwards. We also have a couple other perks we're going to put on there, things like t-shirts, and there's even like a $100 pizza party where you can come and I will do the entire album live, and we'll have pizza, and you get to bring one guest, and you get a copy of the album too. So it'll be kind of a neat date night. It's going to be happening, I believe, I believe in July, but we'll have all those details up by the time the account goes live. So I just wanted to make you aware of that. You can go to rickleejames.com/thunder and right now go ahead and sign up to be notified when we launch. I would really appreciate if you did that. It would mean so much. It doesn't cost you anything to sign up. It just kind of lets me know you're interested and lets me know that we have some people that really do want to buy this album when it comes out. I think it's going to be a really good album. I'm excited about being able to record record with Brothers McClurg at Old Bear Studio again. I also wanted to make you aware of one other thing that you can do if you want to help to contribute to the album. Maybe you don't want to do a preorder, but maybe you're a fan of the show and maybe you'd just like to, out of the goodness of your heart, donate a little bit, even if it's just as small as a dollar. There's a really easy way that you can do that just using your phone. You can text the word THUNDER, and that's just T-H-U-N-D-E-R, to the number 555888. That's Thunder to 555-888. And when you do that, you'll get a text message right back, and it'll ask you if you would like to donate something to my album campaign. And you can pick the amount. It can be a dollar, it can be $9 million if you want it to be. You can decide. It doesn't have to be a lot, it can just be a little bit. Maybe it's something you'd like to do recurring. Maybe next month you'd like to give another $5 or something like that. But every little bit counts, and I would appreciate it so much., and we're gonna have that phone line available to you. So again, that's THUNDER. Just text that word to 555-888. Well, I hope you're enjoying the Voices in My Head podcast. I saw that we've climbed up the charts once again.
