Rick Lee James invites the congregation to a communion service at First Church of the Nazarene in Springfield, Ohio. He notes the church is walking through both hardship and celebration, and emphasizes that everyone needs God every hour, whatever their circumstance.
Chapters
My one defense, my righteousness. O God, how I need you. I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord. No tender voice but thine can be so full. I need thee, oh, I need thee. Every hour I need thee. Oh, bless me now, my Savior. I come to thee.
Hey, welcome to Preparing Our Hearts. This coming Sunday that I'm preparing for right now. We're going to be coming to the Lord's table to, uh, to receive from him the bread of life and the cup of grace. And so as we are coming and thinking about what it means to meet with him, I know personally for our church we have found that we are in a time of great need. We have a lot of hurt, we have a lot of trials people are going through. We've had some— some deaths that have really taken a blow on us. We've had some surgeries, we've had people with just different work problems and financial difficulties, but we also have many joys, and we also have things like new jobs that we're celebrating, and things like new lives being brought into the world. And so no matter what state we're in, we find that we are all in a state of need. We all need the Lord in the good and the bad. So we'll be focusing not only on just the invitation to the table, but also acknowledging that that invitation means that we need him and that we need him every hour. And so we're gonna be singing songs that say, "I need thee," and "I need you, Lord, my one defense, my righteousness, Lord, how I need you." So hope you can join us at First Church of the Nazarene, 901 East Holm Road, here in Springfield, Ohio.
