Well, good morning everybody out there in YouTube or wherever you watch this video at the time. I don't expect anyone to actually be streaming while I'm doing this. I had one of those rare moments of being alone for a few minutes this morning, just about to hit the road and head to do a concert this weekend, and just wanted to share a new song I'm working on. And it's based on the Compline Prayer, but it has to do with the ministry I'm doing at the hospital as a chaplain, and it's called Keep Watch, Dear Lord. So let me know what you think of it. Keep watch, dear Lord, with the over those who work or watch or weep this night. And give your angels charge over those who are saving others' lives. Let them be as Christ to the dying ones who will draw their final breath. Let their hands soothe the suffering and bring the weary rest. Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who watch or work or weep this night. Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who watch or work or weep this day. Their healing hands bring solace near To grieving ones whose lives have changed, let your compassion give them strength to lift the heavy load. With willing minds and open hearts that welcome every soul. Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who watch— or work. O weep this day. Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work or watch or weep in life. May they find you in the broken hearts of those for whom you gave your life. Give eyes to see you in the ones who are overlooked each day, and ears to hear you in the ones who have never had a say. Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work or watch or weep this day.
