Rick Lee James performs 'More Than a Watchman,' a song based on Psalm 130 about waiting for God's mercy and restoration. The live worship set at Veteran's Park in Springfield draws on the psalm's themes of repentance and belonging, with James inviting the audience to sing the chorus together.

Well, good evening. I hope you're enjoying yourself. It's been a good time so far. I appreciate the music we've already heard tonight. My name is Rick Lee James and I live here in Springfield.
Hello!
It's good to be with you tonight. I'm going to be sharing a song from Psalm 130. It's this incredible cry to God. He says, "Out of the depths, Lord, hear my cry." He says things to God like, "Lord, if you should keep a record of wrongs, who could stand? But with you there is mercy." And it's one of those great songs that, you know, back in the old days we used to talk more about praying through. What it meant to stay as long as it took. And what it meant to stay until we had prayed through. Until we knew fully that we were wholly God's and He was wholly our Master. Wholly, W-H-O-L-L-Y, wholly. And so I'm going to share this song with you from my album, Amazing Psalms Live. Psalm 130, More Than a Watchman. If you'd like to sing along on the chorus, I welcome you to do it. It says, more than the watchman waits for the morning, so does my soul wait here for you, Lord.
The dead. Lord, hear my cry. I bow my head, swallow my pride. If you should keep a record from us, Lord, So does my soul wait here for you, Lord. I don't want to move, I don't want to speak, not till I know I've heard from your word. I'll wait all night with eyes wide open. I'm not gonna sleep till I am whole. Till I am whole. Till I am whole. Whole in you. redeem. Lord, you will restore. Out of your grace, forgiveness is poured. I'm grateful to you. I trust in your word. Lord, you give us grace when none is deserved. So Hold you till I'm holding you. Lord, I don't want to move, I don't want to speak, not till I know I've heard from your word. I'll wait all night with eyes wide open, I'm not going to sleep till I am whole, till I am whole, till I am whole, till I am whole, whole in you. Thank you so much. God bless you guys.
