Riddhi Deorah shares three daily affirmations parents should tell their children to build confidence and express unconditional love. The phrases encourage independent decision-making and strengthen the parent-child relationship through simple, consistent communication.
Every single day. We spend so much time saying so many different things to our kids, but it is so important that we tell them what truly matters. Words are very powerful. They can either build us or break us. And in today's video, I'm going to share with you three things that you must tell your children every single day. Yes, you heard me right. Three things that you must tell your child every single day. But before I jump and start telling you what are those three things, I just want to share a small thought with you. As parents, we spend so much time working super hard trying to make our children's life comfortable, trying to provide them with quality education. And in this whole process of working super hard and trying to make everything comfortable for them, we sometimes lose track of what really matters. Our words don't cost anything, but our words are so important. What we tell our kids today is not just going to help them now, but it's going to help them forever. It really changes the way they think about themselves. So it is so important that we spend some time telling them the right things every single day. I hope I've been able to convince you about the importance of words that we use in general, but more specifically when we are around our children. Having said that, let's jump into what is the first thing that we must tell our child every single day? The first thing that you want to tell your child every day is that you can do it. It is so important to reassure our kids that they can do and finish whatever it is they have started. Let me give you an example. Let's say your child is making puzzles and is trying very hard, is struggling very hard to find the right pieces. As a parent, you don't want to jump in and start helping your child inst. Want to be an observer and you want to be a supporter. You want to make good use of this opportunity and tell your child that I'm sure you can do it. I'm sure mommy is sure that you can do it. Papa knows that you can do it. This trust and confidence that we put in our children by just saying these simple words, you can do it, it's going to improve their self confidence and their self reliance, not just today, but also when they are adult. So it's so, so important that we tell our children you can. At some point during the day, throughout the day, our kids spend very hard trying to learn different things, trying to do different things. So it's very, very important that at least once in your day you find an opportunity to tell your child you can do it, do not do it for them. Just be there to support them and to encourage them. Also, let me share with you something funny that happened very recently. So I was working on something very difficult and not being able to do it. And then I just shout out lo that, you know, it's so difficult, I just can't do it. And then my four and a half year old son who was just sitting next to me, he came to me and he told me, mummy, I know you can do it. So by saying this, you're also modeling the right behavior for your child as a parent. So make sure that you say you can do it to your child at least once every single day. So what is the second thing that you want to tell your children every day? The second thing that we must tell our children every day is that I love you no matter. It is so important to say these words to our kids every day. As parents, we all love our children, but sometimes our lives get so busy that we forget to express our love to them. But it is so, so important that we do it. And we want to say I love you no matter what. This is very important because our kids should know that even if I do something wrong or even if I make a mistake, my mother still loves me, my father still loves me. This just gives them the confidence to keep trying and keep doing more. If you don't tell them that you love them unconditionally, they sometimes start doing things just to make you feel happy. And they find it very difficult to try new things. So you just want to tell them that no matter what, I'm still here for you and I love you. It is so important that we tell our children these things. And let me tell you one thing that is going to make this very obvious. So all of us know, or at least believe that our husbands love us. But we still want them to express their love to us in some way. We want them to verbally come to us and tell us that they love us just like that. Our kids want it. So it's so, so important that we tell our children I love you no matter what. At least at some point during the day. This is going to increase their self confidence, their self worth, their willingness to try new things. They'll be less afraid in experimenting. So make sure you say these words to your children every single day. And the third thing that I like to ask my son every day is what would you like to do? This is so important as parents. On one hand, we want to raise independent kids and on the other hand, we try to make all their decisions for them. But it is so important that at some point during the day, you empower their choices and just let them be. Just trust them, let them make their own decisions and bear with the consequences of the decisions that they've made. By doing this, by empowering their choices and asking them the simple question, what would you like to do? You're essentially teaching your child wisdom and responsibility. The wisdom to make their own choices and the responsibility to bear the consequences of the choices that they make. This is so important. This is something that they will need not just today, but at every single living moment, because our lives are nothing but the choices that we make. So you want to trust your child. You want to encourage them to make their choices, and by asking this simple question, you're putting your trust in them and telling them that, I trust you and I know that you will make the right choice. So it's very important that at some point during the day, you ask your child this question, what would you like to do? So these are the three things that you must tell your children every, every single day.
