This is a YouTube video titled "How To Calm Your Child?" containing a single-speaker instructional talk from July 20, 2024, explaining the ABC method (Assess, Build connection, Communicate) to help parents manage situations when their child is not listening. The speaker provides practical advice on calming children through this approach.
I want you to save this and follow this every time your child is not listening to you. I use the ABC approach whenever my child is not listening to me. Now let me tell you what is the ABC method. A stands for assess, don't react. Pause for 10 seconds and hear the child out. Your child expects you to react if you don't react. This often confuses them and eventually calms them down. B stands for built connection. Validate your child's feeling. Say something like I understand you're upset and unhappy. C stands for communicate. Be assertive and clear with your communication. Say something like this, I understand you don't want to do this, but sometimes we have to do what we don't feel like. Whenever I'm in this situation I remind myself of the ABC method and it has really started to work. After some practice. Share this with someone who might need this.
