My child does not share anything with me or does not express himself to me. It's very important to understand that sometimes kids want to express, they just don't know how to do it. So it's important that we as parents take the first step and we start expressing what we are feeling to our children. So we can say things like, you know, mummy is having a tough day, or Mummy is having a great day. Today mummy is feeling excited, today mommy is feeling sad. It's very important that you express yourself because when you express yourself and put it in words, you're making it easy for your child to express himself or herself. The second thing that might prevent your child from sharing things with you is that you are jumping into conclusions or interfering when they are sharing something with you. So when you get into that whole lecture mode while they are sharing something with you, this will actually stop them from coming back to you. So let your child finish and if you have a feedback, wait for some time and then give your feedback to your child. Do not do it when they are sharing something with you. My child does not share.
