Riddhi Deorah asked her reserved son for honest feedback on her parenting. He told her one thing to keep doing and one to stop. She listened without defending herself, and it shifted how they talk to each other.
So many breakthroughs that are happening every day. But the most precious for me is like yesterday in the night, I was just talking with my son. He is kind of reserved, very less time he shares with me. And yesterday actually I made a list of my skills and my qualities that I have. And I was just talking to him. What do you feel about this quality of mama? Does mama has this. So out of 15 he just said yes for 4 remaining 11 he said I don't think maybe little bit you don't have that, that thing. But this time I was calm. I was listening, listening to him. And I really felt this time he gave the feedback okay, what he is feeling. And many times we just say I love you to kids. And he just said this thing. Mama, you keep saying I love you but I don't feel always that you are loving me. So I feel like still there is lot to do. And when I made the list, I could see okay, he's not feeling, I am calm, he's not feeling. I'm giving him proper time. So I got the realizations. And also first time he just told me, I asked him what three things should I do for you. Then you will feel more loved or what should I stop doing. So first time he was not. Every time I ask him, he will not say anything. I don't know, I can't tell you so like that he will say. But yesterday he gave me one. One thing. He didn't give three. But yes, one thing what I should do and one thing what I should not do. So I'm feeling super happy. And that is actually biggest win. At least he has started sharing all these things with me and giving little, little feedback. Yeah, still long way to go. But he has started that is feeling like a big win for me. Yes, I think this is such a beautiful win. And I love the exercise that you did. Like you know, just asking your child like.
