When you lose your temper with your kid, apologize and explain what happened. Don't buy their forgiveness with gifts. Honesty teaches them more than perfection ever could.
What do I do if I sometimes say things to my son I wish I'd never said? I, of course, feel bad. But I do not stay in this energy of regret and guilt for too long. I understand that I'm a human, and I can make mistakes. So here's what I do. I go to my son. I apologize to him. I tell him that I made a mistake, and I also tell him that I'm going to try my best to not repeat it again. But here's what I don't do. I I do not overcompensate him with gifts and toys just to overcome the guilt that I am going through. So next time, if you make a mistake, be honest. Go and apologize. But do not try to give them gifts and chocolates just to overcome your guilt and to feel better about the mistake that you made.
