Riddhi Deorah explains why older kids feel less loved when parents compare siblings. Comparing harms both: the younger chases praise, the older feels inadequate. Parental love is equal, but how you talk about each child shapes their bond.

My elder child feels that I love my younger child more. So what should I do? Number 1, when you have 2 children, your love for both of them will be the same, but your parenting for both children will be different. For example, if one child is already studying well, you're not going to ask that child to study. But if your child is not studying, then you have to keep telling the other child to study. So your parenting will be different even though your love is same. Number 2, we unintentionally end up comparing our children. And by doing this, you harm both your children. For example, if you are appreciating the younger child too much, your younger child gets attached to appreciation and they will do things that they don't like to do for appreciation. And your elder child might feel that no matter what I do, I will never match up to my younger sibling, and they might stop performing and stop trying. Number 3, the bond between 2 siblings has nothing to do with their performance. But it has everything to do with how you parent them and the words that you use around them. So if you want to learn parenting the right way, share this reel with me and comment parenting, and I will share the masterclass link with you.
