Rob Dial explains three signs you're chasing the wrong love: mistaking emotional chaos for passion, trying to fix your partner, and returning to people who hurt you because pain feels like love from childhood wounds.
Chapters
These are three signs that you're addicted to chaos and not connection in your relationships. Number one, you mistake emotional highs and lows for passion. See, you're confusing intensity with intimacy. Those aren't the same thing. If it's not dramatic, you think it's boring. If a relationship constantly feels like a storm, though, that's not chemistry, that's instability. Number two, you equate love with fixing or saving somebody. If you constantly need to rescue people, it's not love. It's emotional chaos disguised as purpose. You imagine someone else's potential versus actually seeing what they've shown you and who they are and they've shown you over and over again. And number three, you keep going back to people who hurt you. Not because you're weak, but because your brain is addicted to the emotional spike. You are hurt in childhood, so you think in order to feel love, you must also feel hurt.
