Rob Dial uses an orange as a metaphor for how pressure reveals what's inside you. When you squeeze an orange, juice comes out, not because of the squeeze but because that's what's in it. You choose what comes out under pressure: love, empathy, or bitterness.

Do you know what this is? It's an orange, obviously. But if I put enough pressure on this orange, if I squeeze this orange hard enough, what's going to come out? Orange juice, of course. Why is that? Because that's what's inside of the orange. When you put pressure on the orange, orange juice is going to come out because that's what's inside. So the question I have for you, when someone puts pressure on you, someone puts too much pressure on you, what is your reaction to that? Is it stress? Is it anger? Is it hatred? Because what comes out in those times of pressure is what's actually inside. But the best part about that is that you can choose your reaction. You can change what's inside so that whatever comes out, your reaction can be different. It could be love, it could be empathy, it could be happiness. Because nobody can make you feel inferior without your discretion. And that's what Eleanor Roosevelt says. So you choose what you want to come out next time somebody puts pressure on you.
