So this is the best secret I can give you to have a better memory. So there was a study done back in 2014, and researchers found that the students who took notes by hand performed better on conceptual questions compared to those who took notes with their laptops. The researchers also found that the handwriting group had better recall and comprehension than that laptop group. So what it shows is that the physical act of writing something down by hand helps with memory retention. And the researchers also propose that this may be due to the fact that handwriting requires more mental processing, as the students needed to selectively condense information rather than just typing everything out verbatim. So if you want to have a better memory, just start to write stuff down.
