Society conditions us to conform from childhood, but the people we admire—Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, Bill Gates—are outliers who refused to fit in. Fear fitting in, not standing out, because conformity breeds mediocrity.

Hello, everybody. Today, what I'm going to be talking about is why you don't want to fit in with the rest of the world. Because we all think that we should do what society says. What we've been raised to do is to fit in. If you think about it, we're raised from a child to do what our parents tell us to do, rightfully so, most of the time. And then we get into school 4, 5, 6 years old, and up until 18 to 24, sometimes even older. What we do is we're told to sit down, to shut up, to listen, to do exactly what we're told to do by the teachers, and then we get out. And we expect that people are going to start thinking for themselves and start not fitting in once they get out. No, of course not. That's not what's gonna happen. So we have this ingrained fear inside of us that we're gonna stand out. And so what most people do is they try not to stand out. They try to fit in as much as possible because they fear being judged. They fear standing out and not fitting in. Let me ask you this, though. If you're trying to fit in and if you're not trying to stand out, do you think there might be a problem with that? I think that there is. Here's the problem. When you look at society, do you feel that most people in society have a life that you want, or do you feel like most of society is mediocre and only a select few have the life that you want? When you look at people that you admire, people that you look up to, do they stand out from the crowd or do they just blend in? When you talk to them, do they seem like they're just normal people, or do they seem like there's something different about them? If you think about a lot of the people that we admire in this world, Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, do they fit in? Do they seem just normal, or do they feel like they kind of stand out in some sort of way? Is there something different about them? Do they care about fitting in? That's the questions you have to ask yourself. The way that they think, the way that they act, the way they make decisions, are all different than a normal person would. They don't care what other people think of them. So if the people that you look up to and the people that you admire don't fit in with the rest of society, or why do you keep spending your time trying to fit in and blend in with all the rest of the people in the world that happen to live mediocre lives? Because can you agree that 95% of people in the world, if not more, live mediocre lives? Mediocre lives where they don't live up to their potential, where they don't live at level 10, they don't live at 100%. Yes, you can agree to that. Then why do you keep fitting in? If you don't want to live that type of life, why do you keep trying to fit in? Why do you care what they think of you? Why do you try to be the same as them? You need to model who you want to become to do the same thing as those that you admire. Do I understand that people have the fear of standing out, of being judged, of being different. But if you look at it this light and think about it this way, wouldn't you agree that that fear is completely ridiculous and that fear is holding you back from. From having an amazing life? Stop trying to be like everyone else. Start trying to be someone who's different, that's going to be remembered. Someone who lives a great life. Because most people don't live great lives. So why would you want to be like most people? You should not fear standing out. You should fear fitting in. Because fitting in means mediocrity. And. And you don't want to be mediocre. I know that you don't. So what you need to do is come face to face with that fear of fitting in and ask yourself, is this a fear that I should keep around, or should I make efforts to stand out? Because if your fear is not standing out, then you're always gonna be mediocre. You're always gonna fit in. Your fear should be fitting in, not standing out. That is how you will live a great life.
