Hard Work Wins Every Time

Rob Dial argues hard work beats talent and calls out the entitlement culture, especially among people under 30. A few hours each night adds up to over 700 hours a year. He says most people haven't found their real passion yet, which is why the work feels impossible.

Welcome to today's episode. I am Rob Dial. And today we're going to be talking about the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, hard work. And the reason why we're going to talk about hard work is because we all know somebody who's talented. There's always somebody that's talented, but talent can only take you so far. We all know about the NFL draft picks that go as a number one or number two draft picks because they're talented, but that talent only takes them so far, and they become what they call a bust. But then we also always hear about somebody who's never heard of, who works their ass off and ends up being one of the greatest that's ever played. And we all know that there's lazy people out there. So if you want to be successful and you want to beat all of the lazy people, all you have to do is make sure you focus on working hard for something that you're passionate about. And I know there's a lot of people out there that feel like they're entitled. There's a lot of young people nowadays that feel like they're entitled to. To free time. Personally, I don't think that if you're trying to build something that you really want and that you really love and that you're passionate about, I don't think that you're entitled to free time if you're under the age of 30. In fact, I think that if you don't have something that you're passionate about or you haven't built what you want at this point, no matter what age you are, I don't think that you're entitled to free time. We all know people who go out and they party on the weekends instead of putting time into their business. The question I have for you is, if you're going out and partying on the weekends, what are you celebrating? Are you celebrating success? Whose success? Probably not your own. So the question I have for you is what can you do to work harder to make sure that you are building something that you're passionate about? And I understand there's some people that are out there saying, well, but I have a family. That's impossible. I can't do that. Those are always the. I like to call them the but people. Not just the family people, but the but people. The people who say, oh, yeah, that sounds great, but this. And they make an excuse and they count themselves out before the race even starts. If you have a family, wait till your kids go to bed and then put a couple hours every single night into your passion. And over the year, if you put a couple hours a night, that's over 700 hours that you put into your passion. So you're not entitled to free time if you personally are not where you want to be. That's what I believe. And the thing that you have to realize about that is that most people listen to me and they go, yeah, but I don't want to work hard most of the time. The reason why somebody doesn't want to work hard is because they don't know what they're passionate about. They don't have something that they're so fucking passionate about that they can work every single hour that they're awake. They don't have something like that. And I think that everybody has that passion in them that they can find whatever it is, but they have to go soul searching and go, you know what? What am I really on this planet for? Why am I here? And what can I do to find out what that passion is and to put my waking hours into something like that? And if you have something that you're that passionate about. For me personally, I'm okay with working until my eyes bleed because I am so passionate about helping as many as I possibly can. That's my goal, that's my mission. That's why I'm on this planet. I don't know what yours is, but what I do know is that if you find time to figure out what that is, you will be okay with working your ass off all the time in order to build the life that you really want and to work and help as many people as possible or to have the life of your dreams or whatever it might be. So if you're out there listening to this and you're going, but I'm lazy or I procrastinate, that is bullshit. That's just an excuse that you're making up. If you find something that you love and you find something that you're passionate about, you will be willing to put in hours and hours and hours to building something that you really believe in. So with that, I hope that you have an amazing day.
