Today I want to talk about why you should play the long game and not the short game. I feel like a lot of people that I talk to nowadays, they want to start a business and when they start their business, they're pissed off that their business is making no money within the first three months or six months, or that they're actually losing money in the first three or six months. And what you have to realize is things that are worth it take time to build. It takes time to. To build anything great. Think of it as this. If you're building a house, would you want the person that does your foundation to come in and just lay it real quick, as quick as they possibly could. In an hour they come in with some quick drying concrete and then they just throw your house on top of it? No, you would want that person to take time to make sure that everything is perfect, to come in with surveyors and to make sure it's completely flat and, and that you have the best foundation possible. Why? Because your house is going to be standing on top of it. That's how your business should be. You should put the foundation down. You should know that it's going to take time for your business to make money. If you're lucky, your business will be profitable within the first six months. You have to know that. But great things take time. Therefore, that's what you should tell yourself whenever you're starting to build your business or you're going out is that great things take time. You're not going to be profitable right away. A lot of people start businesses and then they quit the businesses because it's not profitable in three months or it's not profitable in six months or a year. And they say, oh, this isn't a good business. This isn't what I thought it was going to be. No, that's not it. It just needs time. You need time to fill the foundation and put the perfect foundation down. So if you're passionate about your business or whatever it is your product that you're going into, or your industry that you're going into, make sure that you realize in your head it's going to take time to build something great. Everybody wants immediate gratification nowadays. Now I can pick up my phone, I can Google something, and I can have an answer in an instant. Didn't used to be that way 10, 15, 20 years ago. Used to go to library and hope that they had the encyclopedia there for you, that would be the one that you needed in order to get the answer that you needed. Now everything's so immediate that people just expect that their business, their success, everything will be immediate as well. But the people who are the most successful are the ones that have the expectation of, hey, I might not make any money for the first year, but I'm okay with that because I'm building the foundation to make something great in the long run. That's the way that you should go into your business. That's the way that you should think about it. And if you want the best possible business, the business is going to make you amazing income and make you the happiest over the most amount of years. Realize it's going to take time.
