Did you know that 36 million people will die next year of starvation? That is one person per second. So if you see this ticker that's going off in the video, that's how many people will die just in the time that you are watching this. And one out of every ten of those will be a child. And with this holiday season, you and I could end their starvation. Let me show you how. According to WorldHunger.org, 795 million people are hungry right now. 81 million of those are in need of emergency food assistance. So imagine going through this holiday season not worried about gifts, not worried about if you will get through your family holiday party with your crazy aunt, but worried about if you will have enough food to keep your children alive to to see the new year. That is the sad, sad reality for many people on this planet. So how do we solve this problem? What's the easiest way for us to help? Well, according to the United nations, it would cost between 30 to 60 billion dollars to end hunger for an entire year. Americans alone will spend over $600 billion just on gifts this holiday season. That's 10 times the what would be needed to end world hunger for a year. So if you normally spend $500 on gifts, could you donate 50 of those dollars? If you normally budget $200 on gifts, could you donate 20 of those dollars? And that's just Americans. Imagine if everyone in the world were to do this. We could end hunger for years to come. Could you just imagine that for a second? Not one mouth would go hungry on this beautiful planet if we were just to take 10% of what we're going to give in gifts this holiday season.
