How to Follow Your Gut Feeling

Two speakers argue that overthinking kills success and you should use a "ready, fire, aim" approach instead: decide what you want, act immediately, then adjust as you go. Trust your gut when it tells you to quit your job or end a relationship, and the safety net will appear.
Today I'm going to talk about taking risks.
Why you should just jump when you get the gut feeling that you should jump. A phrase that I love to live by is ready, fire, aim. Now, you might know it as ready, aim, fire.
But I like to live by ready, fire, aim.
What that means is that you figure out what you want, you fire, and then you make adjustments.
Because most people, what they like to do is they like to think about.
What they want, then they plan for forever and for months and for years.
And then they never actually fire.
They never actually execute.
What you should be doing is you.
Should figure out what you want, you execute, and then you make adjustments as you need to. If you get the gut feeling that you should go for something, then you should go for it. Just jump.
And have faith that your safety net will appear. You're smart enough, trust that you will figure it out. If you put yourself in the position where you've already started to execute and now you have to make adjustments, you will figure out the best adjustments to make. Sometimes you just have to force yourself to jump.
When you get the gut feeling, feeling.
That you should quit your job, when you get the gut feeling that you should break up with somebody, when you get the gut feeling that you should just go for something, usually your gut is right. So sometimes you just have to force yourself to jump. Because overthinking is where dreams go to die. The richest place in the world is in the graveyard because there are hundreds of millions of people who have died with some of the best ideas in the world because they were overthinking and letting their fears hold them back. And if they would have just jumped, if they would have just executed and went for it and trusted that they would have figured it out. They could have started that business or that product that might have changed the world forever, but they didn't. Because they let their fears and their limiting beliefs and their overthinking hold them back from going after what they wanted. So if you get the gut feeling, if you have the gut feeling that you need to change directions right now, if you're getting the strong pull towards something or away from something else, you need to just do it. You need to just commit, figure it out along the way. Remember this phrase. Ready, fire, aim.
