A jackhammer commits all energy to one lifelong pursuit. A hummingbird moves from flower to flower, extracting value from each. You don't need to know your life purpose forever, just for the next six months to a few years.

I think that I'm lucky because I do know what my life purpose is. But I heard it. I think it stresses people out because a lot of people are like, I don't know what I'm gonna do with my rest of my life. I don't know what my life purpose is. I don't know the reason why I'm here. And when people. I think I'm lucky because I know what I want to do until the day I die. But most people, I think they get stressed out because they don't know what they want to do until the day they die. And so I heard explain one time where it says, there's jackhammers and there's hummingbirds. I'm a jackhammer. Jackhammer. They figure out what they want. They just go at it as long as they possibly can, and they just put every ounce of energy into it. Most people, though, are hummingbirds. And a hummingbird will go to a flower and it'll stay there. It'll get all the nectar that it can out of it, and then it'll move on to the next flower. It'll get all of it can out of it, and then it'll go on to the next flower. And so some people can have an overarching. Most people feel like, I have to have this job, I have to have this thing that I'm doing that's the purpose for the rest of my life. You can have an overarching goal or purpose for your life where. But don't have to do the exact same thing forever. And so some people can spend. You know, you don't have to worry about what you're gonna be doing until you're 80 years old. Just worry about what you're gonna be doing for the next six months or two years or three years and say, okay, this is my purpose for the next two or three years. I'm not sure how this overarching theme of my life, this overarching purpose is gonna work out, but if I just. If I know that this is what's bringing me purpose, and this is making me happy for the next year, two years, three years, you might get to the end of those three years and go, I got everything that I wanted to, just like a hummingbird would, and you just move on to the next one. And it's like Steve Jobs says, you can never connect the dots looking forward. You can only look backwards after you get to a certain spot and say, oh, now I understand why I had to go to all of those different flowers. And that was to get me to where I am right now.
