Five years from now, we'll be here before you know it. And you will either be excited by the life that you have created over the past five years, or you will be in the exact same place that you are right now. And that would be extremely disappointing. And all of that comes down to one thing. One decision that's so simple that you could miss it if you're not paying attention. And I want to tell you how making this decision completely changed my life. And I think that it'll change yours as well. And this is the story of the most life changing conversation that I've ever had. When I was 19 years old, I hired my very first life coach. And I was trying to make myself better and make my life better. But what happened was I started showing up a little bit late to the weekly calls. I didn't fully hit assignments. I would make excuses as to why I didn't get something done or why I didn't have the life that I want. And after a little while, he got completely fed up with me and he had this conversation and he. And he said, rob, I've got a question for you. If a business fails, it's got a thousand employees and it fails, whose fault is it? And I said, that would be the CEO's fault. He said, if a business succeeds, whose fault would that be? And I said, well, It'd be the CEO's fault as well. And he said, okay, if you get to the end of your life and it was everything that you wanted, you had the joy, the peace, the love, the happiness, the fulfillment, you made all of the money that you wanted to, whose fault would that be? And I said, that would be my fault. He said, okay, but if you get to the end of your life and you don't have the joy, the peace, the happiness, the fulfillment, and you don't make all the money that you wanted to, whose fault would that be? And I said, that would also be my fault. He said, do you want to know what your problem is? Your problem is you're blaming everybody else when what you need to do is become the CEO of your life. And that conversation was a wake up call to me. And it changed the entire trajectory of my life. My whole life, I'd been blaming other people, making excuses, being negative. And in that moment, I had a choice. I could either keep doing that and end up with a life that I would regret on my deathbed, or I could step into the driver's seat of my life, take full responsibility for everything that happened to me, and decide to start acting like the CEO of my life. Because whether it becomes a life I wanted it to or or it doesn't become the life I wanted to, it was my fault. And that decision is the decision that you need to make for yourself right now. CEOs don't wait for permission. They don't play the blame game. They act as if everything is their responsibility, because it is. And they sure as hell don't hope that someone comes and saves their business. So stop living your life as if someone's coming to save you. Because nobody is coming to save you. You need to save you. And it all comes down to one simple decision. Are you going to step up and change the entire trajectory of your life and be the CEO of your life? Or are you going to keep making excuses and blaming other people for the circumstances in your life? The choice is yours. I really hope that you make the right one.
