The World Needs More Kindness

Andy meets a stranger called Miss Blondie over coffee and opens up about contemplating suicide that morning. Her unexpected kindness reminds him that good exists in the world, renewing his will to live. He promises to pay the kindness forward.
Hey.
Thank you so much.
I really appreciate that.
No problem.
Hey, are. Are you okay? Do you need anything else?
I'm okay. But these last few months have been really tough for me, so just trying get by.
Sorry to hear that. Well, I hope that helps.
Thank you so much, Miss Blondie. Hey.
Oh, hey there.
Do you remember me from a couple days ago?
I do, yeah. You're Ms. Blondie.
Yeah. How are you?
You know, just another day.
Yeah.
How are you?
I'm pretty good. Well, I'm going to grab some coffee. Would you like some?
Yeah, that would be great.
Cool.
I'll be right back.
Thank you.
Here.
Hey, you're back. Thank you so much.
No problem.
Well, it's been great chatting with you, but I think my friend just got here, so I'm gonna go meet with her.
Sounds good.
Thank you again.
Miss Blondie. Thank you so much for the kindness you showed me today. The past few months have been the worst of my life. And it's only been getting worse. To be honest with you, this morning I was considering ending it all and just removing myself from this life. But after sharing time with you, I am reminded that so much good in this world still exists. And I'm going to keep pushing on. I can't thank you enough for being such a beautiful person. I will try my best to pay you back in the future. Have an amazing day and keep smiling. Andy.
Socrates said that everyone that you meet is fighting a battle that you know nothing about. So be kind. Always. See, we live in a world where we are so connected to everyone, but sometimes so disconnected to the person that's sitting right next to you. And you never know how much that person might appreciate a little bit of your time, a little bit of your kindness, or even just a little bit of your love. So it's important that we learn to stop judging people just because they're not the same as us. Because we've never walked in their shoes. We've not had the same journey that they've had. So take time today to smile at a stranger or do something for someone else. Or as Ogmandino says, beginning today, treat everyone that you meet as if they are going to be dead by midnight. Extend them all of the care, kindness, and understanding that you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. And if you do that, your life will never be the same again.
