In this podcast excerpt, the hosts discuss how modern media narratives exploit the brain's negative bias and survival instincts, leading to widespread overwhelm and fear. They argue that merely presenting a compelling story is insufficient; instead, changing one's physical state—posture, breathing, voice tempo, and movement—can instantly alter biochemistry and mood without medication. By consciously adopting empowered body mechanics, individuals can develop habits that shift their perception of life, fostering a more positive outlook.

And so now you're in a place where most of what's coming at you is designed to appeal to the negative bias of the human brain, the survival mechanism. And so that's why most people get overwhelmed, so they hear all these stories. And now these last couple years, the stories have been really scary for people. Like, we're all going to die if you breathe on somebody. And so now, what could possibly be compelling? So it's not enough to paint a compelling picture. You have to shift their body. You have to shift the way they're using their body. If I said to you there was a depressed person behind curtain number one, and I'll give you $100,000 donation to your favorite charity if you can describe their posture, I bet you could do it. What's their posture like? If they're.
Depressed? They're slumped over. They're probably breathing really heavy or really, really light and short. You know, their voice is probably low and you know they're speaking really slow.
Slow. Shoulders down, slumped, shallow breath. Now, how do you know that? Because we've all practiced this shit at some point in ourselves, right? And felt that way. But if you take that same person and you change their physiology, bring their shoulders back, you change the tempo which they're speaking, you change how their voice is, you change their movements with punctuated movements, that person's biochemistry changes. You don't need a drug to do it and has no side effects. And then when you develop the habit of using your body that way, then all of a sudden you have the habit of perceiving life differently.
