This is a YouTube video titled "McAfee 12 Scams of the Holidays 2014" (published April 3, 2015) — a short TV tech-report/studio segment from the Pepsi Tech Center featuring two speakers (studio hosts/anchors). They discuss holiday phishing and email scams, warn viewers not to click suspicious shipment links (e.g., fake UPS/FedEx emails), and point to McAfee.com/12scams and Fox10TV.com for more information.
Really excited that we have a Christmas tree in the studio this morning, and we're sticking with the holiday theme for this morning's tech report from the Pepsi Tech Center. The holiday shopping season is almost here, and that means criminals are looking for ways to try to take your money. The internet security company McAfee says be careful which emails you open.
We are all very aware of the phishing scams. Email scams are a big deal this year. Bad guys are sending out millions of phishing emails that look like they're coming from UPS and Federal Express so that you might think you're actually getting a shipment, but in fact, if you click on those links, you're going to download malware. So be very careful. Don't click these links. Just log right into the shipping company's website and enter any tracking information that you might have.
Very good information there. McAfee has listed the 12 scams of the holidays on its website. To read more about staying cyber safe, go to McAfee.com/12scams. And of course, we're going to put that on our website, Fox10TV.com. Um, as well.
