Hey, it's Robert Siciliano with HP and CSO Magazine. I am here with Ryan Tierney, Director of Information Security for Vonage. And we just attended Alex Stamos' keynote at Black Hat. So what did you think of Alex's presentation?
It was really good, actually. He touched on a lot of issues that we're currently facing in the industry.
And he had said at one point that the situation in regards to information security is getting worse and not better. Due to the fact that so many more people are getting online. What do you think about that?
I completely agree 100%. It's, uh, we're still facing issues that were 10 years ago were prevalent in networks, right? So, and those issues that we're facing 10 years ago that we're still facing now, such as? So one of the, one of the ones was like Kerberos vulnerability that was just released a couple weeks ago. Uh, I think it's 15-year-old vulnerability, they finally released it, so it's pretty nasty.
Yeah, that is nasty.
So At this point, what do you think of the conference so far? Very busy. It's pretty good though. It's grown a lot.
You were saying earlier that there's a lot more people here than were here last year.
Yeah, it seems like a lot more right now.
Would you say that that's because the problem was of course getting worse and not better, and so more people are hands-on?
I don't know if it's that or more companies willing to send people, right, to training, because realistically they may be noticing a larger problem as well, right? Companies throwing money in and funding a security. And that's a good thing. Absolutely, yeah.
Thank you so much for your time.
Enjoy your conference. Thank you so much. This is Robert Siciliano at Black Hat.
