Fox 25 reporter Jared Holbrook covers the courtroom proceedings of 44‑year‑old Reed Jones, who pleaded guilty to raping a 30‑year‑old woman after she passed out at a party, taking lewd photographs of her, and posting them on a fake Facebook account created in her name. Jones was convicted on four charges: rape, indecent assault and battery, and identity fraud, and was sentenced to 5–7 years in prison, followed by five years of probation, mandatory sex‑offender registration, and GPS monitoring. The victim testified about the lasting emotional trauma, her ongoing battle to have the images removed, and her intent to sue Facebook after the platform took over a month to delete the content despite police requests. Identity‑theft expert Robert Siciliano explained the limited legal recourse available to victims in such cases. The segment interweaves courtroom facts, victim impact statements, and expert commentary, highlighting challenges victims face when online platforms fail to act promptly.

Thank you. A follow-up to a story we've been following for a couple of years now. A Marblehead man in court pleading guilty to raping a woman and posting photos of it on a fake Facebook account he built with her name. Fox 25's Jared Holbrook was inside the courtroom for his plea and has the details.
Guilty or not guilty? Guilty.
44-year-old Reed Jones admits in court to raping a then 30-year-old woman after she passed out at a party. He then took lewd pictures of her and later posted them on Facebook after creating an account in her name. He's pleading guilty to 4 charges including rape, indecent assault and battery, and identity fraud.
Reed Jones is a monster. He's a monster who lacks any type of human element, any care or concern for his victims.
The victim was in court face to face with Jones.
He is a cancer to this society. My life will never be the same. This has scarred me more than I can convey in words. I have nightmares still. The thought of this makes me sick beyond belief.
Outside of court, the victim tells us her battles are far from over. She says she's going to sue Facebook. She tells us the social media site ignored her request to take down the pictures. The victim adds that police also reached out to Facebook in various ways, including mail and fax, but according to her, it took more than a month for the pictures and fake account to be removed. Did they ever say why they didn't take it down?
No, not to me. It was never conveyed to me why.
Identity theft expert Robert Siciliano Says unfortunately there's little you can do in this situation.
You are certainly at a loss, and your only way to respond to this really is through persistence, and you may have to lawyer up to get even a faster response.
The judge sentenced Jones to 5 to 7 years in prison. You've gone through so much, you know, what's next for you?
Moving on. Closing the— not just the chapter, but the entire book, and moving on.
