Welcome to my Breast Implant Illness podcast.
Today we're going to assess what are the reasons for having breast explant surgery. Remember we defined breast explant surgery and.
Is the removal of the entire capsule.
With the device intact, if at all possible, obviously. And what's the purpose of that? Well, in my study of over 1143 and over 900 plus with PCR testing is that there's biofilm around this and we don't want to leave biofilm or infection of any quantity in somebody. So we always want to remove all that intact if at all possible. And there are reasons why, you know, women would seek explant surgery, whether it's for symptoms associated with breast implant illness like brain fog, sound and light sensitivity, headache, dry eyes, dry mouth, shortness of breath, just heart palpitations or tightness in the chest. Neurologic symptoms in their arms, you know, nerve pain in their arms, maybe tingling, really uncomfortable. Neurologic symptoms like burning in their extremities, both arms and legs for that matter, muscle and joint pain. And then GI symptoms can be reflux or bloating or someone with eating or just in general constipation or diarrhea and so in those instances where I think inflammation is really the driver, of course a big driver of inflammation can be the implant. For me, there's no controversy around doing this. The short answer is work up all the factors that contribute to inflammation by testing through my heart program and then those patients really prepared or optimized for surgery.
We'll get back to the show in a moment, but I wanted to share something that I think can really help you. You might not be aware, but part of my work as an innovator in the cosmetic surgery space is to create products that will give my patients the best possible outcomes and restore their health as quickly as possible. I can't tell you how critical it is for all of my patients to actively work to reduce inflammation in their bodies. We do this through diet and supplementation. In fact, I've created a special inflammation support bundle for my patients and now you can have access to it as well. One of the reasons this bundle is perfect for my patients is that so many of them have pill fatigue. It's just not going to work for them to have a handful of pills.
Each day to reduce inflammation.
So I made sure to include the liposomal version of many of the vitamins and minerals within the bundle. You'll still get the full absorption of these supplements in your mouth without having to go through your gut first in.
Order to be absorbed.
You can get the inflammation support bundle@drrobsolutions.com and begin to feel better when you make the supplements a part of your daily health routine. The website again is drrobsolutions.com I can't wait for you to get this help in your hands.
If someone doesn't have really bii but they want to explant, maybe they're tired of their implants, they're not happy with the appearance. Maybe they've always hid them because they were too big, which is a common problem. They might be uncomfortable because of those size issues. Or maybe there's capture contracture and just hurts. Maybe they desire to, you know, return to their own natural size and shape as part of a change in their outlook on their lives and their wellness in general. Of course, there may be, you know, reasons secondary to the device. Maybe it's ruptured. It's been found on a mammogram to be ruptured. Further examination shows it may be leaking outside of the actual capsule, which would be an extra capsular rupture found on mri. Maybe someone's had weight loss pregnancies. Just lift surgery in the past and scarring from that. And maybe that's just drove them to seek consultation regarding explant. Or maybe they went to other groups or other professionals sought, you know, counsel that way. And once they've come to the conclusion, you know, about explanting with or without consultation from those other providers and given careful consideration to that decision, hopefully they have supporting friends and family, loved ones, significant others that can help them through that process. If not, our program is meant to help support them through that journey. And that's my program, HARP Holistic Accelerated Recovery Program. We have staff in place to provide more emotional support. I have several staff members who've had explant surgery, including our patient advocates, leader of our HARP program. If they want to discuss this, we have discovery sessions that are complimentary with our patient advocate and then we do have HARP through obviously our qualified healthcare providers to provide more options. But if you're just seeking these out and you can't get in touch with us at our clinic in Austin, then certainly seek out members that are qualified in the healthcare community to discuss your options and provide you with as much information around this as possible.
