Rob Greenlee demonstrates MobileCast, a Java app that streams podcasts to your car stereo via a Nokia N73 phone. He connects to a 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid through the AUX input, launches a hip-hop music channel, and shows buffering, album art, and playback controls. Regular podcasts support fast-forward and rewind, though music channels don't.

Hi, this is Rob Greenlee from Melodio MobileCast. I just wanted to give a demo of MobileCast, an application, Java application that is available for your mobile phone that you can listen to mobile podcasts from all places on the globe. So I want to give you a demo. This is a 2007 Camry Hybrid, and I've got my Nokia N73 plugged into my Camry. There's an AUX out an AUX jack and a power jack. I don't currently have the power jack plugged in, but this is kind of a more common feature nowadays with cars that have AUX in for the stereo system, so you can plug in your iPod or your phone or your MP3 player or whatever. So this is a demo that will show you mobile cast as well. So let me— as you can see, I've launched the application. We go to our music channel. And let me go to our A to Z radio. Actually, we've got like 4 channels, 4 music channels. So let me go select the latest episode from A to Z on the hip-hop side. And let me hit play now, and you can see how this plays into the stereo system and how it sounds. It should load in right— there's buffering that comes in, you can see it right there. Okay, the first loading is the music and the second one is your album art. So you can control the volume right in the application. So you can have some album art here. You also have the ability to do some adjustments You can fast forward, you can go backwards. Now the music channel doesn't support actually fast forwarding or going back in the content, but if you were listening to a regular podcast, you could skip forward or you could go back. So thanks for watching the demo. Go out and get MobileCast at mobilecast.com and get some podcasts playing in your car. Take care. Thanks.
