In this segment of the New Media Show, the host argues that listeners are generally skeptical of politicians when they appear on radio or podcasts. Because many people doubt that politicians will tell the truth and are unwilling to devote time to such content, the audience numbers for these appearances are lower than expected. This distrust also discourages politicians from making media appearances, creating a feedback loop of low engagement.

Yeah, people are smart, right? You get people, people can hear it. And, you know, in radio, and this also pertains to podcast as well, and this is why we don't have a lot of politicians who are willing to make a stop. I've seen politicians come on shows and we always expect, oh, the numbers are going to be huge and they're not because people are like, well, it's politician. I don't know that I'm going to get the truth and I don't know if I want to give up too much of my day to listen to that.
