Rob Greenlee says your personality should dictate your genre, not the other way around. Funny people make comedy, analytical people make educational content. The real requirement across all genres is connecting personally with your audience.
So is your personality funny? Is it serious? Is it analytical? Is it problem-solving based? Is it spoken from an experience base? Some certain genres of content require a person to be serious, and some require analytical abilities. But generally, all of them have the characteristics that are required for success to be the ability to connect on a personal level with another human being. And that can take all sorts of different forms.
