I'm Rolf Bötte, Managing Partner at Sequoia Capital. Last season on Crucible Moments, we delved into the stories of some of the world's most significant tech companies. Their founders shared their unvarnished histories, what it's like to lead through uncertainty, and overcome challenges in the pursuit of your vision. We saw how moments of turmoil can galvanize pivotal inflection points. These chapters define founders and their companies. The decisions you make in these moments clarify who you are and what you value. Now, Crystal Moments is back for season two. We'll hear from the founders of YouTube, ServiceNow, DoorDash, Neterra, Reddit, and more, as they share their journeys and the decisions that shaped them. With new stories. I remember taking calls in the dark janitor's closet when I needed privacy.
One of the jokes I had with my friends is when you get called for CEO role, the first question you're trained to ask is, what's wrong? Because no one makes a CEO change when things are going well.
New challenges. It was much more existential than, oh, you know, we got some tough challenges on our hands. I didn't think we were gonna live through this. If we change, we die. But the situation is, if we don't change, we're dead.
Boy, that was maybe one of the dumbest things I ever done.
And Resonance listens.
It's once in 10 careers stories that this happen. You have to seize the opportunity of a lifetime during the lifetime of the opportunity. You can be too early, you can be too late. But when you see that the timing is right, you really have to move with very significant urgency. I don't know if this company's going to be around in three to six months, but what I can tell you is that it's going to be the most memorable three to six months of your life in your career working here.
