Romi Genosar's Humankind Pharma has developed a dry, stable insulin syringe that doesn't need refrigeration, solving access problems for 463 million insulin-dependent people in low-income countries. The $21 billion insulin market is projected to double in five years. Genosar, who has Type 1 diabetes himself, founded the company to address the global crisis.

Hi, I'm Romi. I'm the founder and CEO of Humankind Pharma. My company is developing an affordable and stable pre-filled insulin syringe for diabetics in resource-constrained communities. Diabetes is one of the fastest-growing health concerns of the 21st century. With prevalence increasing most rapidly in low- and middle-income countries. Insulin is a life-dependent medication for diabetics. And yet, 100 years after its discovery, it is still not reliably accessible to half of the 463 million people who depend on it. Current insulin vials quickly lose effectiveness outside a narrow temperature range. And thus, their distribution is dependent on a network of refrigeration systems that are costly and problematic in many countries. Humankind Pharma's pre-filled insulin syringe overcomes this challenge by providing insulin in a dry, stable form that is easily prepared for injection by the user. Insulin stability is also a concern in the US and other Western countries, which allows for price scaling of Humankind's products. Our approach will significantly expand the global insulin market, which already stands at $21 billion and is projected to double in the next 5 years. My pursuit of this venture is purpose-driven and a personal one. My own Type 1 diabetes diagnosis prompted a commitment to serve other diabetics, especially those less fortunate than myself. As the founder and an inventor, I'm very committed to this goal, and my focused product execution will support my success. Thank you.
