When hiring, start by mapping your organization's strengths and the networks around them. Ask people in those communities for referrals to colleagues they've enjoyed working with. The speaker built their team this way by tapping genuine relationships rather than casting wide nets.
Start with your strengths and then as you dive into those networks, you're naturally going to find different pools of people and talents and groups, organizations. Ask the people that you find initially, even if they're not willing to work, ask them who they enjoyed working with, who might be interested. You can also dive in and find networks of people if they're in like any engineering groups or any coding groups, you can then go and reach out to those people, and you kind of have to build those relationships and those, those connections, and that's how it worked for us.
