Ideas alone have no value. What matters is execution, work, and the responsibility you take on. If multiple founders build something together, equity should reflect who actually did more of the work.

One person is usually giving more, and I want to caveat this, and this is so, so important if we take nothing else from this. Bringing the idea is worth zero equity. Ideas are not valuable, and I know you'll back me up on this. When I talk to people and they're like, but it was my idea, I, okay, like a million people have your idea and have dropped. Yeah, that is not because you're not awesome and smart, but that has no value. So you have to be bringing other stuff, and I think when you do that, there is usually someone that is bringing a little bit more, taking on a little bit more, made progress on their own. There is usually a person where the buck stops here, and that's okay. It doesn't mean that's not the other person's company too.
