A founder spent six months testing before landing on online courses. They tried importing YouTube videos, built a custom script to convert playlists to Udemy courses, and assigned someone to find the right playlists. The idea wasn't obvious at first.
It took over 6 months for us to come up with that brilliant idea that in that soundbite sounds like we had it from the beginning and just knew we should do one course and it would be great. No, we did try lots of different things. We imported videos from YouTube and turned them into courses. Aaron created a script and he was like, look, I can just take all these YouTube playlists. And so we would have a team just finding YouTube playlists and jumping them into Udemy.
