Founders often treat mission, vision, and values as marketing copy to broadcast early. Instead, use them as internal guides to shape your company's direction. Define the change you want to create, examine your personal values, and set them aside when the business needs something different.
Chapters
What I find often is people misinterpret those branding elements to be external things. So, "I need to tell everyone about my vision," or, "I need to make sure people know what our values are," when really you don't need to do that at your stage. What you do need to use them for, though, is an internal tool for direction. So you want to start working on what you see the change becoming in the world because of what you do, so you want to work on the vision. You want to start interrogating your values, and if your personal values are going to filter to the company, or or whether you're willing to maybe put them, you know, one of yours aside because of what you believe it should be for the business. And, you know, all those, I think they're very important because they will shape how the company grows.
