So the biggest thing to think about is when you're approaching companies, how can you be the thing that they want the most? Right. How can you be the thing they want the most? Well, what's the thing that most companies think they want? What's the thing that most companies think they want? Money. Absolutely. Absolutely. Right, right. On it all caps, right? Yes. Profit. Yeah. Cash money.
They want the dollar.
Dollar bills, right? So the way that we want you to position yourself so that you will get attention from them is to position yourself as an investor. We want you to be the investor. Okay? So here's an important thing. If you look at my social media, right? If you look at my social media, what does it say in every single description right up at the front? It either says, I'm a mentor or I'm an investor, right? So those are the two things that I do. So I've positioned myself as investor, right? I position myself as the thing that I know that companies want. So when they go check me out, if they haven't heard of me, they're like, oh, this guy's an investor. Cool. I want to talk to him. If I outreach to somebody cold, right? I don't have to do that a lot anymore, but I still do it. And when I do, they come and check me out, right? Who is this guy that's sending me a message on LinkedIn? He's an investor, right? That's cool. And then I've got some, you know, some credibility things there too. But your credibility really comes from the conversations that you have. So that's really important. Now here's a mindset thing for you guys that I really want you to get is you do not have to have cash to be an investor. Okay? The question I'm going to ask you is are you willing with the companies that you approach to invest your time, your brainpower, your effort to do a deal? If you are, you're an investor. And the reason I say, what's the thing that they think they want? The thing that they think they want is money. But they don't want money just so they have a pile of money. They want money because they want the things that money will get them. And that might be more employees, an operator, it might be equipment, it might be contacts, it might be the ability to generate leads and customers by spending it on media. If you're not an investor and you don't believe that you're an investor even if you don't have cash right, then you can't do this ethically. Okay? And you should go now. Right? It's really important that you understand that you are bringing value to the companies that you are going to talk with.
