Sandra Abrams nearly fell for a phishing scam when a hacker used her friend's compromised social media account to message her with fake Zoom links. The friend's account had been hacked five days before Sandra even knew about it. She warns to delete suspicious messages and verify requests by calling the person directly.
I was almost a victim of a phishing scam through my computer and phone. A friend of mine's social media account got hacked five days ago. I was getting direct message, I thought, from him. We were going to be doing some Zoom meetings. We were going to be doing some connecting on my computer with some links. My friend actually called me. He has my phone number today and let me know he was hacked. It was a scam. Delete everything. Don't go forward. Be careful. It can happen to anybody. That's it.
