Assalamualaikum everyone. Samia Islam here again. And today my heart is full of pain. And I am speaking in front of you with not my voice. I'm speaking with thousands of families pain in Bangladesh. And it has been one year today since 2024 July genocide. And the pain is still inside us. And mother lost their sons, sister lost their brothers. Friends saw friend die in front of their eyes. In this month 2024 young students came to street to to ask for fairness. They were not fighting, they had no guns. They only wanted justice and chance. Equal chance for everyone. But what did they get? They got bullets, they got injury, they got beating, they got death. And the children who were not part of this protest, they were also killed. The girls were beaten in public. Many people has gone in few days and so many are still missing. And so many lost their eyes, their arms, their legs. What was their fault? They were just asking for justice but they had to pay it by their life. And I remember one boy named Anas, he wrote a letter to his parents that before joining to the protest that if I don't come back, don't cry for me, cry for Bangladesh. And he never came back again. So I just astonished that how much they loved their country, how much they loved our Bangladesh and how brave they were. So they had so many dreams in their eyes. And I think I also have so many dreams. And my parents has so many dreams with me. So their parents also had so many dreams. And the dreams remain incomplete. I just want to promise you that we will never forget you. And your lives, your names will always remain with us. And you were brave, you were innocent. And you are the heroes of Bangladesh. Your debt to us we can't repay. Thank you.
