And I am the founder of Be Moved, and I get to empower big-hearted entrepreneurs, coaches, changemakers to help them really step out front, do something with the big moments that we have, and do it in a way that moves their audience.
This moment, I think this can be such a joyful experience. Yes, joyful.
Be Moved to me is an expression and a belief that in order for us, whoever's up front, to move their audience, we ourselves need to be moved. It's a very personal process. Stepping out front, sharing your story, taking the risks that are required for us to have an impact. I've always really loved the spotlight, and I started out on stage as an actress, and in high school I discovered high school speech. I was coached by truly the best coaches in the country, and they taught me all of the skills. Eventually, my professional life brought me to speaking in front of kids, 150 teenagers every day, talking about these big, beautiful ideas like kindness, courage, and respect. I learned a ton about how to do this well.
You haven't found your feet on that yet, no worries.
When we are showing up for our audience and we're showing up out front, it's really an extension of who you are. So I show up as a Minnesota gal. I show up as a family person. These are all aspects of who I am.
This is a very special crowd. I should have known that.
I really want people to know that speaking is not this far-off elitist club. Everybody has a story, everybody has a voice, and I feel like it's my personal mission to let you know that you belong out front.
