Building Your Self-Trust Foundation | Why Self-Trust Beats Confidence Every Time (Part 2)

Self-trust beats confidence because it's built on evidence, not feelings. The speaker outlines three pillars: past proof you handled hard things, belief you can learn, and willingness to act despite doubt. She introduces the Self Trust Stockpile worksheet to track brave or messy actions as proof of what you can do.

Welcome back, everybody. In the last video, if you haven't seen it, you wanna go back and watch that. I told you why confidence fails you. It's BS and you can't trust it. I wanna show you in this video what actually works and how it works, and that is self-trust. Let's do it. Here's the beautiful difference between confidence and self-trust. Confidence is a feeling. Self-trust is evidence. Doesn't ask. Do I feel ready for this? Here is the beautiful difference between confidence and self-trust. Confidence is a feeling. Self-trust is a— self-trust asks, what evidence do I have that I can look to that I can handle this? And the truth is, you probably have evidence. And if you don't, you're building it by even asking the question. There are 3 pillars that make self-trust so reliable. First, Past evidence. You've done hard things before, not this exact thing, but you have navigated challenges, you've figured out problems, you've survived difficult situations and moments. That is data about your abilities. The second pillar is growth mindset, which is a no duh, and that's been around for a while, but it's so important. The language and the stories that we tell ourselves shape How quickly, or even if we ever do the thing that we want to but wonder if we can. Self-trust says, I may not know everything yet, but I believe in my own abilities to navigate through. It's not about doing it perfectly, and if perfect is in this mix at all, it's going to slow you down. It's about trusting your ability to learn and adapt. The third pillar is about acting despite your feelings, acting despite the thoughts, the BS. It's okay if I swear. And the truth is sometimes even when we cannot find past evidence, we have to act anyway, show up anyway. And here's the big one. Self-trust will help you take action even when you don't feel confident because feelings are not facts. About your capability. How do you start building these 3 pillars? You start collecting evidence that you can look back to and call upon and remind yourself of every single time that you do something that used to scare you, that you figure out a problem you didn't think you could solve, that you show up even when your internal feelings and thoughts were like, "I don't wanna, I don't wanna go out." Every single time that you try something new and survive, which is most of the time, 'cause you're here. Even if it's messy and imperfect and hard and you look a fool, you're building your capabilities. Put it in your self-trust account. Here's what's amazing about all this. Unlike confidence, you can access this evidence even on your worst days, even when you feel anxious or unprepared or completely out of your depth, because self-trust is the thing that whispers in your ear, Remember all those other times you figured this out? You can do it again. You got this. That is why I created this little worksheet called Self Trust Stockpile for you. Love alliteration. It's a super simple way to start collecting this evidence so that you can use it and lean on it because every brave move that you track becomes proof of what you're capable of. And in the next video, I'm gonna show you exactly what this looks like in real life. How to use self-trust when you are facing something big. And the truth is, we need leaders who are willing to make some big, brave moves, willing to move past and beyond what's holding them back, because we need you. The authentic you, that's what's going to move the world. Grab your self-trust stockpile. Let's get it going, and I'll see you in the next video. If you want more, you'll follow along because there's More coming. See you there.
