Your Business Is Not You

A founder who can't be replaced is a bottleneck. Build systems and hire people so your business runs without you, or you'll never have freedom and neither will your company.
Let's have a Christy day.
So duplicate yourself, replicate yourself, and make yourself redundant or irrelevant, which sounds like, what? This is my business. It's my business. But the business actually is a thing other than you. And especially when you get to hiring people, and you're serving a wide base of clients, it is doing things that you alone are incapable of doing. So it can't just be you. It can't just exist to serve just your needs or your emotional desires, right? By definition, has become something bigger than you. And insisting on staying in specific roles in the business Means that you are artificially limiting what it's capable of doing and limiting your own personal freedom. Because I have not met an entrepreneur who didn't say, I started my business so I could have more flexibility, do things the way I wanna do them, do when I wanna do them, be the one in charge, be the one making decisions. There's always some aspect of control and flexibility.
Hmm.
And we tend to favor control over flexibility.
Yeah.
So if I stay in control, I limit my flexibility because I have to be there.
