Adam Sand argues autonomous roofing robots will arrive in three to five years, but first need 400,000 hours of training data. His plan: own roofing companies, equip human roofers with sensors, pay them to generate that data, then deploy the robots once they're ready.
And essentially the thesis is, is that robots will work on roofs and this will happen in 3 to 5 years. And in 3 to 5 years to do that, you need at least 400,000 training hours to train the robot. And in order to get the training, you have to get roofers to wear training gear. And in order for roofers to wear training gear, you have to pay them. And in order to pay them, you have to own roofing companies, and therefore the goal is to own roofing companies. Now, to get investors to be interested in owning roofing companies, well, they have to have an interest in short, medium, and long term.
