In this devotional monologue, the speaker recounts a recent personal Bible‑study moment where God repeatedly drew his attention to the same passage. He observes that believers often rush through Scripture, treating it as intellectual head‑knowledge, and miss the heart‑transforming work God intends. The speaker argues that when God makes us linger on a passage, it is a purposeful invitation to let the Holy Spirit reshape our hearts. He urges listeners not to skim past familiar verses but to hover, allowing repeated exposure to bring deeper spiritual change.

Chapters

A few mornings ago, I was sitting down doing a personal Bible study and just meditating on some passages of scripture that the Lord was speaking to me deeply about. And I had this thought of how many times when the Lord wants us to pause concerning whatever we're reading or studying in his word, and he really wants to speak to us about something, but we try to rush past it because we feel like we've studied it before, so why should we have to keep going over it? Or why is the Lord continuously speaking to me about this same issue or whatever the case, and how many times we rush past that. And what I found is that you can be in such a rush to be so full of head knowledge that your heart is not being transformed. So God, in all of his mercy, will have you hover over the same thing, continue to have you land back at the same issue over and over again, because he's after your heart. Don't be in a rush to move past the scripture.
