Are you a Delta loyalist like me? Then maybe you got the email. And if not and you're planning on flying Delta, know that as of today you have to check your bag, if you check a bag, 45 minutes prior to departure. It used to be 30 minutes. So those of you who always get to the airport last minute, if you can't check it at least 45 minutes before departure, you're not checking it. If you're like me and usually don't check a bag but carry-on, you're good with 30 minutes. If you don't have an American Express Delta card, you're going to pay $35 for your first checked bag and $45 for your second checked bag. And also, if you're a Medallion status— if you, you have status with Delta, so you're a Medallion, Gold Medallion, Silver Medallion, whatever— your first checked baggage goes for free as well. The weight limit for checked luggage is 50 pounds or 23 kilos, and the circumference or the whole linear— I forgot what I call it, but it's 63 inches total all the way around. So if you're catching that Delta flight, make sure you get there early enough if you want to check a bag and you're there 45 minutes prior. I actually have a Delta flight coming up next week and I will be checking, but it's only because I need stuff that I'm taking that I'll need to have there. I'm going to make sure that I'm at least 45 minutes early. Lots of changes happening in the flight world, but a lot of them are super good. To be honest with you, a half hour before departure with everything in the hecticness of an airport, to me it makes sense because we want our bag to go with us, right? We don't want to have it left behind. So Delta is doing it to make the process smoothly. That's what they say, and I'm gonna believe it.
